Subclass 188A (Business and Innovation Stream)
This option is eligible for Successful Business Owners, or Investors from overseas who are willing to invest in new or existing business in Australia, or even make a designated investment in Australia State bonds.
Some of the key requirements for this stream:
- Score at least 65 points on the Visa Calculator
- Your business(es) achieve an annual turnover of at least AUD 750,000 in 2 of the last 4 years
- have a genuine desire to own and maintain a management role in a business in Australia
- have net assets of at least AUD 1,250,000
888A (BUSINESS AND INNOVATION STREAM) – PERMANENT
To obtain your permanent visa, you need to demonstrate the following:
- Resided in Australia on subclass 188A visa for at least 12 months, within the 3 years prior to lodgement
- Owned and operated a business in Australia for at least 2 years prior to the application with annual turnover of at least AUD 300,000
- Satisfy 2 of the following 3 criteria for the 12 months prior to lodgement:
- Assets of at least AUD 200,000
- Net personal and business assets of at least AUD 600,000 in Australia
- Employed at least two Australian full-time employees in your business in Australia
188B (Investor Stream)
You will first be granted a five-year temporary visa. After maintaining an investment in Australia for three years, you can then apply for a permanent residency through the Business Innovation & Investment (Residence) Subclass 888 application.
Some of the key requirements for this stream:
- Score at least 65 points on the Visa Calculator
- Managed a qualifying business or investments to the value of minimum AUD 2.5 million for at least 1 of the last 5 years
- Have at least 3 years’ experience in managing one or more qualifying business or eligible investments
- Have net assets of at least AUD 2.5 million
888B (INVESTOR STREAM) – PERMANENT
To obtain your permanent visa, you need to demonstrate the following:
- Resided in Australia on subclass 188B visa for at least 2 years, within the 3 years prior to lodgement
- maintained the AUD 2.5million investment in omplying investment for the whole visa period
188C (Significant Investor Stream)
This application is for the individuals who are willing to invest a minimum of AUD 5,000,000 into complying significant investments in Australia for a minimum period of 5 years. A State or Territory Government can nominate these individuals.
888C (SIGNIFICANT INVESTOR STREAM) – PERMANENT
To obtain your permanent visa, you need to demonstrate the following:
- Resided in Australia on subclass 188C visa for at least 120 days cumulatively, within the 3 years prior to lodgement
- Maintained the AUD 5,000,000 investment in “complying investment” for at least 5 years
